What is the first step to buying a home?
What comes first? The chicken or the egg? The very first thing you should do is talk to a mortgage professional to see how much home you qualify and determine what you want to spend. Your favorite realtor can give you a referral to lenders they work with and know to be reputable.
Do I really need a real estate agent?
Yes! Using an agent to purchase a home is usually no cost to the buyer. You want an experienced professional advocating for you, and guiding you through the process. When selling a home an experienced agent will know how to best market your property and bring you top dollar.
How long does the home buying process take?
From start to finish the home buying process can take as little as 30 days with a quick close and a great lender. You can plan for a week or two to find your dream home, then 30 days from contract to close is the average.
How are the schools?
Schools are an important part of buying a home even if you don't have children as schools can affect neighborhoods and home values. While school choice is very personal to each family I can give you a list of websites to help you do your best research for your family.
I'm not sure how you found Carrie, but rest assured you are in good hands. Carrie us is one of the best negotiators around.
In one word, Carrie was amazing. We relocated to the Dallas suburbs for my job, and due to timing we could not see any houses until we were actually in Texas. She worked with us through a very whirlwind house-hunting mission and a bit of a nail-biter when we finally found "our" house - all the time being perfectly graceful, professional, tenacious, and responsive. She really took the time to get to know us and her personal service level is simply unmatched. We would highly recommend Carrie to anyone looking for a home in North Texas!
My experience with Carrie was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and responded to our questions quickly. And we had a lot of questions as we were not familiar with the area. Carrie works hard and is fun to be around. Finding a house can sometimes be stressful, but she made it very enjoyable.
